Support Gaza
The Institute (through its branches in Jordan and Palestine) provides various support to families in Palestine (whether in the West Bank or the Gaza Strip):
In keeping with what we did in the past, and in light of what our people are suffering from in the “Gaza Strip” in particular, we are now in urgent
need to support them by different ways including sponsorship of children of martys (orphans), providing urgent aid, as well as empowering the health sector there.
Mahmood Darwish Scholarship
With the waning use of the Arabic language among our people in the countries of immigration and the diaspora, we have an insistent desire to perpetuate this language as a basic instrument of communication, at least among the activists and elite of the communities. Bridges to Roots (Saleem Al-Sayegh Camp)
PII has undertaken since 2006 to launch and organize an annual summer camp in Palestine as part of its strategy to maintain lasting links between the young generations, sons and daughters of Arab Palestinians living in their respective countries of expatriation and the Diaspora/ Exile, with their homeland Palestine. The aim is to deepen their belonging to their homeland, entrench awareness of its cultural heritage and preserve the historical memory of one common identity in their hearts and minds. Young males and females from those countries were given the opportunity to join the summer camp, held in the city of Nazareth.
Urgent Medical Needs Programs
Palestinians under occupation are in need for different types of medical care, which is very difficult (and sometimes impossible) to be obtained inside their homeland. So, they resort to seeking treatment, physicians and hospitals outside of Palestine (in Egypt, Jordan, occupied homeland, and sometimes in Western Europe, the United States and other countries).
After a workshop which hosted medical teams from Germany, Austria, Jordan and Palestine (the West Bank and Gaza), a scientific inventory of medical needs of the Palestinians was conducted, whether on the long-term, medium-term, or urgent. Since then, the PII embarked on developing programs to address the urgent needs in particular.
